Community Support Services

Council works together with local organisations to support residents to access community services in the Hawkesbury LGA.

Council also supports a range of service provider forums and interagencies for the purpose of sharing information and developing projects and partnerships to build a strong community services network in the Hawkesbury LGA.

Our Community Services team may be able to locate a service for you, or assist your organisation with a community program or event, or provide you with information and connection to external funding opportunities.

Translating and Interpreter Service

The Australian Government, through the Department of Home Affairs, provides a Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) for persons from non-English speaking backgrounds and for English-only speaking persons needing to communicate with them.

Youth Services

The primary contact within Council for youth-related enquiries is Council's Youth Participation Officer (YPO). The YPO's key activities include: the joint planning and sponsorship of Youth Week activities; facilitating ideas from young people into Council's planning and consultation process; working with young people to stage Youth events and consultations; and developing strategies to implement recommendations from these in collaboration with community partners.

The Youth Participation Officer works closely with the Hawkesbury Youth Interagency (HYI) and other interagencies to facilitate access to services for young people in the Hawkesbury. For meeting dates and further details please contact the Youth Participation Officer on (02) 4560 4562.
