Woodbury Reserve Skate Park in Glossodia opens these school holidays
14 April 2025
Get your skateboards and scooters ready to ride the new Woodbury Reserve Skate Park these school holidays! The Woodbury Reserve Skate Park will be open to the public from Friday, 18 April 2025.
The delivery of the skate park is the most recent feature of the approved Woodbury Reserve upgrade masterplan to be completed and follows the completion of the pump track and mountain bike trails in August 2024. The Woodbury Reserve upgrade is being co-funded by NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) program ($5.4 million) and the Australian Government’s Priority Community Infrastructure Program ($3 million).
The Honourable Peter Primrose MLC, Federal member for Macquarie, Susan Templeman MP, and Hawkesbury Mayor, Les Sheather officially opened the skate park last week in anticipation of its public opening in April.
“Hawkesbury locals, and visitors have another active recreation space, this time for the skating community, in the wonderful Woodbury Reserve,” Peter Primrose said.
Susan Templeman added: “I’m pleased our Federal funding has helped to deliver a much-needed facility for this part of the Hawkesbury. The collaboration by Council’s designers and people young and old was good to see and I look forward to watching skateboarders in action during the holidays.”
Local families and members of the Hawkesbury skating community took part in design workshops in September and October 2024, providing valuable insight into what the local skating community would like to see included in the final design of the skate park.
“It was important that the skate park was inclusive of all skating abilities and reflected the local skating community.” Mayor Sheather said. “To have had so many local community members contribute to the final design, and now be able to skate on their vision, is a truly incredible outcome.”
Woodbury Reserve will receive a substantial upgrade in line with the approved Masterplan, which was adopted in February 2022 following extensive community consultation, and will provide the Glossodia community and surrounds with much-needed passive and active recreation facilities.
Council is committed to providing spaces and infrastructure that supports healthy and active lifestyles and celebrates the outdoor beauty of the Hawkesbury.
The Woodbury Reserve upgrade will include:
- New pump track and mountain bike tracks (completed)
