Have Your Say on the Draft 2025/2026 Operational Plan

op plan 2526 coverHawkesbury City Council is inviting the community to view and comment on Council’s Draft 2025/2026 Operational Plan, which is on public exhibition until Wednesday, 7 May 2025 at yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au

The Draft 2025/2026 Operational Plan has been developed to outline the proposed projects, programs, and activities for 2025/2026. It also includes information about rates, fees and charges and estimated income and expenditure.

Some of the highlights of the Draft Operational Plan include budgets of:

  • $89.4 million on improving local roads and drainage
  • $36 million on upgrading public spaces, parks, sports and recreation facilities
  • $43.3 million on community and culture including local events, our Libraries, Gallery and Museum
  • $41.4 million on waste collection, landfill and sewer.

Key initiatives will include:

  • $101.8 million Capital Works Program focused on flood recovery, asset renewal and Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Projects
  • 114 key actions for delivery across a wide range of services
  • Engagement, design and commencement of construction on the city shaping Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Projects
  • Strategy and policy implementation to deliver on key environmental, economic, governance and social outcomes
  • Continuing to provide and improve services for our community.

Hawkesbury Mayor Les Sheather said Council welcomes comments from the community on the Draft Plan.

“Our yearly Operational Plan and Budget sets out a clear list of the works and services we will deliver for our community, based on the priorities identified by our residents,” Mayor Sheather said.

“This month all residents have the important opportunity to provide feedback on this year’s program of works, which ensures Council remains on track to deliver on your priorities.

“We value your feedback, and all submissions will be considered as part of the Draft Operational Plan consultation process.”

  • Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm
  • Richmond Branch Library, 29 West Market Street, Richmond, Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm
  • Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor, Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm and Sunday 2pm to 5pm.

Council will receive submissions in writing via yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au or addressed to the General Manager by mail to Hawkesbury City Council, PO Box 146 Windsor NSW 2756, or email to council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au up to close of business on 7 May 2025.

All submissions will be considered and may be included in a Council meeting business paper. Your submission, and any personal information, is accessible by any person upon written application, subject to Council’s Privacy Management Plan and the Government Information (Public Access) Act, 2009. The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary, however, if not provided, may affect consideration of the submission. The information will ultimately be stored in Council’s records system.
