Statement regarding tree removal along Grose Vale Road

9 October 2024

Council statement tileRedbank Communities is undertaking works to upgrade Grose Vale Road to improve traffic safety, flow and capacity. These works have required the removal of 158 trees on the southern side of Grose Vale Road and 40 trees on the northern side.

The road upgrade works form part of the Voluntary Planning Agreement between Redbank Communities and Hawkesbury City Council to allow for the upgrade of local infrastructure around the under-construction Redbank housing estate. This project was approved by the State Government-appointed Regional Planning Panel in May 2023.

The Regional Panel in its deliberations concluded that the proposal would not have a significant impact on any threatened species, populations or communities listed under the Biodiversity Conservation Act. The trees removed at this site would be compensated for as part of a proposed tree planting which includes 1049 replacement trees across the Southern Valley Precinct.
