Have your say: draft Fireworks Policy on exhibition

Hawkesbury City Council’s draft Fireworks policy is on public exhibition from Monday 25 November to
23 December 2024.
Individuals or companies who wish to conduct a fireworks display must have one of the following licences issued by SafeWork NSW:
- A Pyrotechnicians Licence; or
- A Fireworks Single Use Licence (FSUL).
Council must be notified of any proposed fireworks display by licenced pyrotechnicians within the Hawkesbury LGA at least seven working days before the display.
Notifications received by Council will be assessed against the ‘Guidelines for Council when notification of an intention to use fireworks is received’ which was issued under s23A of the Local Government Act 1993 by the NSW Office of Local Government (Circular No. 08-66).
The draft Fireworks Policy can be viewed during the exhibition period on Council’s online community engagement site www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au, or between 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday at Council’s Administration Office, 366 George Street, Windsor.
Council will receive submissions online or in writing addressed to the General Manager at Hawkesbury City Council, PO Box 146 Windsor NSW 2756, or by email to council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au until close of business on Monday, 23 December 2024.
