Successful Community Sponsorship Program recipients announced

Hawkesbury City Council has announced the successful recipients of Round 1 of the Community Sponsorship Program 2024/2025.

Twenty recipients will receive a total of $16,241 across the three categories of: Resilient Hawkesbury, Access to Community Facilities, and Participation.

4. Hawkesbury District Concert Band – new blazers for formal performances, such as ANZAC Day.
5. Hawkesbury Remakery – new craft group.
6. Macdonald Valley Association – for a series of small live concerts.
7. Hawkesbury Environmental Network – for the bush kindy program at Oakville Preschool.
Access to community facilities$1,5461. Hawkesbury Beekeepers Inc – to use Hawkesbury Leisure and Learning Centre.
2. Sydney Sheepdog Club Inc – to use Hawkesbury Showground.
3. Hawkesbury Valley Baptist Church – use of Hanna Park.
Participation$1,50010 young individuals each receive $150 to participate in sporting competitions including: football, softball, gymnastics, dance, performance cheer and netball.

Program criteria

1. Resilient Hawkesbury
Criteria: Council may provide funding to community programs that help to build a connected, healthy, inclusive, and resilient Hawkesbury. Maximum funding of $3000 per applicant.

2. Participation
Criteria: Financial assistance may be provided to support the participation of residents who have been selected to represent the Hawkesbury in state, national, or international sporting competitions and cultural events. The level of contribution is $150 for individuals and $750 for a team of five or more.

3. Access to Community Facilities
Criteria: Not-for-profit community groups in the Hawkesbury or providing services to the Hawkesbury, can apply for financial assistance for a subsidy of 50% off the cost of hiring a Council or community facility up to a maximum contribution of $750.
