Attracting and supporting native bees in your garden

27 April 2022

Native BeesDid you know that there are over 2000 species of native bees in Australia? To find out more about encouraging native bees into your garden or space, join ecologist Amelie Vanderstock on Tuesday, 17 May from 11am to 12.30pm.

Presented by Hawkesbury Library Service, this free interactive workshop will show you how to transform your garden into an oasis for native bees and other pollinators. It will include an introduction on the diversity of native bees, where they live, and what flowers they forage on. Participants will be shown how to design and nurture their own spaces, both big and small.

Amelie Vanderstock researches the role of community gardens and urban greenspaces for promoting pollinating insect biodiversity and has won several awards for her outreach work. She is passionate about native bees and other insects and loves to share her wonder with the broader community. This event will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street Windsor. Please book via Eventbrite https://hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com/ or call the Library on 4560 4460.
