Have your say on the future of South Windsor Park

A Landscape Masterplan is being drawn up for the popular South Windsor Park, also known as the Mileham Street Netball Complex, and we want the community to have their say.

A concept plan has been released for community feedback. The plan provides a long-term vision for the park which will improve the general amenity and encourage greater community use and enjoyment of the park.

Some of the opportunities that have been identified include:

  • create accessible path connections and clear entries to key zones across the park
  • create a loop track with exercise stations
  • create new activities within the park including facilities for youth, multi-use courts, play spaces and learn to ride area
  • upgrade and rationalise the parking
  • manage stormwater runoff, soften the landscape and increase tree canopy to create cool pockets with shade and seating
  • upgrade and rationalise the netball courts (pavement and lighting)
  • rationalise the buildings on site into a new combined sporting and amenity building that is centrally located and accessible to all.

The creation of the masterplan is essential to guide potential improvements at the park, when and if funding for such works becomes available. Full development of the park will not be completed in the short to medium term.

The Concept Landscape Masterplan for South Windsor Park can be viewed online and feedback provided at www.yourhawlesbury-yoursay.com.au until Sunday, 4 February 2024.

You can also view the plans in person at Council’s Administration Centre, 366 George Street, Windsor, and provide feedback by writing to PO Box 146, Windsor NSW 2756 or by emailing council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au
