COUNCIL HOURS FOR 2023-24 FESTIVE SEASON
As in previous years, Council will operate with reduced staffing levels from Saturday, 23 December 2023 to Wednesday, 3 January 2024.

Extra recycling collection over Christmas and New Year
To help residents with the extra recycling that tends to appear over the holidays, Council will provide an extra recycling collection over Christmas and the New Year. The extra collection will take place on your usual bin night, from Monday, 25 December 2023 to Friday, 5 January 2024. This service will be provided on scheduled collection days including public holidays.
Bin collection days remain the same, even on public holidays.
Residents can drop off any additional recycling free of charge at the Hawkesbury Community Recycling Centre, located at the Hawkesbury Waste Management Facility, 1 The Driftway, South Windsor. Open seven days (excluding public holidays) 8am to 4pm, with the last entry at 3:45pm. When you arrive at the facility, have your license or rates notice ready and don’t forget to remove your tarp upon arrival for staff to inspect. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve the Facility closes at 3pm with last entry at 2:45pm.

There are no changes to the garbage and garden organics collection services during the festive season. Standard services will be provided, including collections scheduled on public holidays.
Draft Events Sponsorship Policy on Public Exhibition
Hawkesbury City Council is inviting community members to view and comment on its Draft Events Sponsorship Policy, which is on public exhibition at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au up to close of business on Friday, 12 January 2024.
A hard copy of the Draft Policy can also be viewed during the exhibition period at Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor from 9am to 4pm.
Council is currently reviewing its Events Sponsorship Policy, which helps guide sponsorship of Council activities and programs.
The Draft Policy outlines the principles of sponsorship provided by Council to community groups, not-for-profit organisations and private organisations. It establishes a transparent framework for the provision of monetary and in-kind sponsorship by Council for external programs in accordance with the Event Sponsorship Program. It also establishes a transparent approach to the way Council sources and manages sponsorship of Council programs and events to provide a greater benefit to the local community based on a clear set of objectives and criteria in the Commercial Assessment Criteria Matrix and the Community Assessment Criteria Matrix.
Council will receive online submissions via www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au or in writing addressed to the General Manager by mail to Hawkesbury City Council, PO Box 146, WINDSOR NSW 2756, or email council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au up to close of business on Friday, 12 January 2024.
All submissions will be considered and may be included in a Council meeting business paper. Your submission, and any personal information, is accessible by any person upon written application, subject to Council’s Privacy Management Plan and the Government Information (Public Access) Act, 2009. The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary, however, if not provided, may affect consideration of the submission. The information will ultimately be stored in Council’s records system.

INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for - Subdivision - Demolition of Existing Structures, Bulk Earthworks, Tree Removal, Construction of Roads, Stormwater Drainage, Utility Infrastructure, Landscaping and 13 Lot Torrens Title Subdivision. The application has been lodged as ‘Integrated Development’ under Section 4.49 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 as the proposal requires general terms of approval under Section 100B of the Rural Fires Act 1997 at the above property. The applicant is DIMASU Pty Ltd. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority. The development application and supporting information will be on public exhibition until close of business on Wednesday,13 December 2023.
The proposed development is defined as integrated development under Section 4.46 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 because an approval under the Rural Fires Act 1997 is required. The approval body is the Rural Fire Service.
All plans and details may be inspected from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday at Council's Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor or via the DA tracking system at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-build/current-and-past-applications/da-tracking
During the exhibition period, any person may make a submission in writing to Council in relation to the development application, quoting reference DA0458/23. Where a submission by way of objection is made, the grounds for objection are to be specified in the submission. Please note that confidentiality is not available to objectors. The details of any submissions may be included in a Council report or forwarded to the applicant where it may help to resolve design or operational problems. The application has been lodged as ‘Nominated Integrated Development’ under Section 4.49 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 as the proposal requires general terms of approval under Section 91 (2) of the Water Management Act 2000 on the above property. The applicant is Peter Politis. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority. The development application and supporting information will be on public exhibition until Friday, 12 January 2023.
The proposed development is defined as nominated integrated development under Section 4.46 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 because an approval under the Water Management Act 2000.The approval body is the Department of Planning and Environment - Water.
